Collaborative writing
As a collaborative writer I bring fresh perspectives to high-profile authors and celebrities writing memoir or specialist subject books––with lightness, humor, and a winning and friendly nature.
I can help generate initial ideas and create compelling proposals through to full manuscript delivery. My aim is to center and develop the author’s unique voice through a series of key in-person and online interviews, their own writing and social media presence, plus shared experiences, phone call catch-ups, and general hanging out. I’m there from getting the very first words down on the page to ultimate sign off––and beyond.
A former editor at style title i-D magazine and then Time Out in London, I’m a contributor to The New York Times' Wirecutter, and the author of more than a dozen pop-culture, fashion, and cocktail titles, including the bestselling Gin: Shake, Muddle, Stir (Hardie Grant) which has sold over 200,000 copies and is translated into many languages. My in-house magazine experience means I am skilled at highly illustrated projects with complex layouts, and my own authored projects show a talent for high word count projects that require rich and engaging text through to navigating the publishing world. Also, my knowledge of popular trends and innovative marketing campaigns, plus my own freelance writing and strong industry connections well-position me for ‘lifestyle ghosting,’ as well as collaborating with high-profile authors or those with a major social media following.
For 2025, I have five projects in store: three of my own titles, and two collaborative debuts I’m really, really proud of: a highly-illustrated interior style book with a US TV interior designer; and an upbeat and smart narrative guide to life with a well-known health-influencer.
And for 2026, I am working with a USA Today bestselling author on her latest major commission: a popular science book and a subject close to my heart!
Fascinated by everything from queer icons to style and fashion; from 90s and 00s pop culture, to mythology and the new-age, I usually publish a couple of my own titles each year and 2025 has seen the launch of illustrated fashion book Yves Saint Laurent, Style Icon (Quadrille), and the paperback versions of Queer Heroes of Myth & Legend and Queer Villains of Myth & Legend (Radar/Hachette).
My specialisms are––but not limited to––personal-development, lifestyle, LGBTQ+ stuff, 90s-nostalgia, fashion/style, interiors, and popular science. I also love a Manhattan.
